Linda Plumpton and Sylvie Rodrigue honoured by Benchmark Litigation

We are delighted to announce that Linda Plumpton and Sylvie Rodrigue have been recognized as leaders in their field by Benchmark Litigation. This marks the eighth consecutive year that Torys partners have been honoured by the directory.

Chair of Torys’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, Linda Plumpton has been featured on Benchmark Litigation’s Top 50 Women Litigators in Canada list for the eighth time and its Top 50 Trial Lawyers in Canada list for the second time. Linda is an exceptional litigator and whose esteemed counsel is highly sought after by clients. Over the years, Linda has built a stellar reputation and has been honoured by the legal community several times, including receiving the Women’s Executive Network’s (WXN) 2020 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award, being named Litigator of the Year 2020 at the Canadian Law Awards, her admission to the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2019, and being named Ontario Litigator of the Year at the 2020 Benchmark Litigation Canada Awards.

Sylvie Rodrigue, who is Managing Partner of our Montréal office and leads our national Class Actions practice, has been featured on Benchmark Litigation’s Top 50 Women Litigators in Canada list for the seventh time. Sylvie’s approach to class action litigation is ingenious. She is tireless in her devotion to securing the best possible outcome for clients and employs creative strategies for success. In 2014, Sylvie was awarded the designation of Advocatus Emeritus by the Québec Bar, a distinction awarded to only a few legal practitioners each year. She has also been listed as one of WXN’s Top 100 Women in Canada in 2016 and 2019 and she was named Product Liability Litigator of the Year at the 2020 Benchmark Litigation Canada Awards.
