Linda Plumpton named Litigator of the Year

Chair of our Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice Linda Plumpton has been named Litigator of the Year at the Canadian Law Awards.

The Canadian Law Awards celebrate leading law firms, in-house legal teams, individuals and landmark deals across the nation.

Linda’s broad range of experience across many industries, and her counsel in complex litigation matters is highly sought after by clients. Linda had a stellar year in 2019, playing a leading role in several high-stakes matters—further solidifying her reputation as one of the most formidable litigators in Canada.

In 2019, Linda was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) as a fellow, this prestigious honour is bestowed annually on a very small number of litigators. ACTL describes inductees as individuals “whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality.”

This recognition adds to her impressive and growing list of accolades in recent years, including: being featured on Benchmark Litigation’s Top 50 Women Litigators in Canada list for seven consecutive years and being named Ontario Litigator of the Year at the 2020 Benchmark Litigation Canada Awards.

Linda’s professional commitment includes her exceptional leadership within the firm: last year, she was named Sheila Block’s successor as the Chair of the firm’s litigation department, which set the tone for another impressive year in Linda’s remarkable career.
