Three Torys litigators named in Benchmark Litigation’s 2024 Top 100 Women in Litigation guide

We are thrilled to share that Benchmark Litigation has recognized Torys partners Gillian Dingle, Linda Plumpton and Sylvie Rodrigue, Ad. E. in the 2024 edition of the Top 100 Women in Litigation in Canada guide. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Linda and Sylvie have been featured in this publication, and the third consecutive year that Gillian has been featured.

As co-head of the firm’s securities defence practice, Gillian is a top lawyer who guides clients on matters ranging from securities litigation to class actions. As chair of Torys’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, Linda’s esteemed counsel is highly sought after by clients. Over the years, she has been honoured by the legal community various times, including being awarded the 2023 OBA Award of Excellence in Civil Litigation; receiving the Women’s Executive Network’s (WXN) 2020 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award; being named Litigator of the Year at the 2020 Canadian Law Awards; being admitted to the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2019; and being named Ontario Litigator of the Year at the 2020 Benchmark Litigation Canada Awards.

As Managing Partner of Torys’ Montréal office, Sylvie leads the firm’s national Class Actions practice with ingenious strategies that have led her team to success time and time again. She has also been featured on Benchmark Litigation’s Top 50 Women Litigators in Canada list, and was named Litigator of the Year at the 2021 Canadian Law Awards and Product Liability Litigator of the Year at the 2020 Benchmark Litigation Canada Awards. In 2014, Sylvie was awarded the designation of Advocatus Emeritus by the Québec Bar, a distinction awarded to a limited number of lawyers to honour an outstanding legal career and remarkable contribution to the profession.
