Sudbury Regional Hospital Redevelopment
Torys partner Tara Mackay acted as counsel to EllisDon as the successful proponent for the C$131.9 million Sudbury Regional Hospital PPP project to build and finance phase two of the redevelopment and consolidation of all hospital-based acute and rehabilitation services into one facility.
The project involved the construction of more than 135,857 square feet of new space and the renovation to 164,542 square feet of existing space.
Highlights of the redevelopment include
- a new emergency department
- 17 operating rooms
- an expanded intensive care unit
- modernized medical equipment
- new dialysis stations
- expanded cardiac catheterization lab and cardiac rehabilitation services
- enhanced rehabilitation services for physiotherapy, respiratory and speech
