Partners Julie Himo and Molly Reynolds, senior associate Nic Wall and associates Mavra Choudhry and Rosalie Jetté will speak at Osgoode’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Law Certificate program taking place on February 5, 12, 19, 26, and March 5. The five‑module program explores topics including Canadian data privacy laws, cybersecurity best practices, privacy policies, risk management for business and personal information, and the evolving future of data protection. Participants gain practical skills to respond quickly and effectively to emerging privacy and cybersecurity incidents.
Julie and Rosalie will instruct a session titled “Tabletop Exercise Data Breaches and Cybersecurity Incidents” in the fourth module on February 26. The session will offer an interactive, hands‑on workshop focused on identifying legal risks and effective mitigation strategies, using practical scenarios to illustrate how to address data breaches and cybersecurity incidents.
Molly and Mavra will instruct a session titled “Privacy and Data Protection Issues in Adtech and Marketing and Advertising” in the fifth module on March 5. The session will examine how digital advertising technologies create complex privacy and data protection challenges, addressing the legal issues surrounding online tracking, targeted advertising, consent, profiling, and cross‑border data flows.
Nic will also instruct a session—“Privacy and Cybersecurity Law Issues in M&A”—in the fifth module. The session will provide practical guidance on representing vendors and purchasers in M&A transactions, covering statutory requirements, privacy and data protection due diligence, negotiation of related terms, and key considerations for different deal structures.
