Lauren Hulme, Carly Klinkhoff and Amy Maginley named 2025 Lexpert Rising Stars

We are delighted to announce that partners Lauren Hulme, Carly Klinkhoff and Amy Maginley have been named in the 2025 Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 list.

The Lexpert Rising Stars Awards celebrates leading young lawyers who have already made significant contributions to their profession. With reputations for delivering exceptionally high-caliber work, Lauren, Carly and Amy have been recognized for their deep legal acumen, outstanding client service, and dedication to improving the legal profession. This award is also a testament to the work each of them have done to further female leadership within the legal profession.

Lauren Hulme has a robust funds practice with in-depth experience in fund formations, investments and liquidity transactions. Known for her outstanding client service, track record of success and work ethic, Lauren provides comprehensive counsel to asset managers and institutional investors in their fundraisings and investment activities worldwide. A rising star in her field, Lauren has been named an Up-and-Coming Lawyer in Investment Funds: Fund Formation by Chambers Canada and a Stand-Out Lawyer by Thompson Reuters.

Lauren is also known for her passion for supporting the advancement of women in the legal profession, both within and outside of Torys. She was co-creator of Torys’ Women Inspiring Women series, a flagship initiative that highlighted Torys’ women partners and connected women professionals with others in their industry.

Carly Klinkhoff is widely recognized as a trusted legal and business advisor who helps international and domestic clients navigate novel, complex, and time-sensitive transactions. She is a multi-faceted and strategic lawyer whose practice is focused on corporate and securities law—with an emphasis on M&A, corporate finance, stream and royalty finance, and corporate governance matters. An integral member of Torys’ Mining and Metals practice, Carly has been recognized several times by the legal community, including being named an Up-And-Coming Lawyer and an Associate to Watch in Energy and Natural Resources: Mining, by Chambers Canada.

A committed mentor and advocate for supporting the next generation of lawyers, Carly is involved in mentorship programs at Torys, Toronto Metropolitan University’s Lincoln Alexander School of Law, and the Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) Program.

Amy Maginley is an experienced corporate lawyer whose practice encompasses a broad range of energy and infrastructure transactions, with a specific focus on the oil and gas sector. With extensive experience managing complex, high-profile transactions, Amy is trusted by some of the largest oil and gas companies, governments, and institutional and private equity investors in Canada to advise on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, joint ventures and energy project development transactions.

Outside of her practice, Amy is an active mentor within Torys and a member of the firm’s Women Professionals Employee Resource Group, which helps foster the professional development of women lawyers.  She regularly gives back to organizations such as the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation and the United Way.
