Lauren’s practice focuses on corporate law with an emphasis on private equity and venture capital. She represents fund sponsors on all aspects of the private market fund formation and capital raising process, as well as public pension plans and other institutional investors in connection with their investments in buy-out, venture capital, hedge fund and infrastructure funds and in co-investment transactions. Lauren’s work also includes both LP-led and GP-led secondary transactions.
Lauren has advised several clients, including Amplitude Venture Capital, Banyan Capital Partners, CBRE Investment Management and Sagard Holdings, in connection with the planning, forming and negotiating of their private market funds, as well as their internal governance and economic arrangements. Lauren has also advised a number of institutional investors in connection with structuring, negotiating and investing in private market funds, including AIMCo, BMO, CPPIB, HarbourVest Partners, IMCO, Northleaf Capital Partners, OMERS, OPTrust, OTPPB, PSPIB, TD, Teralys Capital and Vancity.
Lauren also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions and general corporate matters.
Lauren is currently a member of the Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors at YWCA Toronto. She has previously held roles as a member and secretary of the Board of Directors.
In addition, Lauren is currently a member of the Western Mustangs Athletic Alumni Board of Directors’ Governance Committee.
