Overview
Lauren’s practice focuses on corporate law with an emphasis on private equity and venture capital. Lauren represents fund sponsors on all aspects of the private market fund formation and capital raising process. She also represents public pension plans and other institutional investors in connection with their investments in buy-out, venture capital, hedge fund and infrastructure funds, as well as co-investment transactions. Lauren’s work also includes secondary transactions to buy or sell interests in a fund or a portfolio of funds.
Lauren has advised a number of institutional investors in connection with structuring, negotiating and investing in private market funds, including AIMCo, BMO, CPPIB, HarbourVest Partners, IMCO, Northleaf Capital Partners, OMERS, OPTrust, OTPPB, PSPIB, TD, Teralys Capital and Vancity. Lauren has also advised several clients, including CBRE Caledon Capital, Amplitude Venture Capital and Sagard Holdings, in connection with the planning, forming and negotiating of their private market funds as well as their internal governance and economic arrangements.
Lauren also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions and general corporate matters.
