Lauren’s practice focuses on corporate law with an emphasis on private equity. Lauren represents fund sponsors on all aspects of the fund formation and capital raising process. She also represents public pension plans and other institutional investors in connection with their investments in private equity, venture capital and hedge funds, as well as co-investment transactions. Lauren’s work also includes secondary transactions to buy or sell LP interests in a fund or a portfolio of funds.
Prior to joining Torys, Lauren practiced corporate and securities law with another leading Canadian law firm, where her practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions and general corporate matters. During this period, she also worked in the firm’s New York City office and was seconded to Target Canada.
Lauren also has experience as a management consultant in Toronto and has completed an investment banking internship in London, England.
Lauren is currently a member of the Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors at YWCA Toronto. She has previously held roles as a member and secretary of the Board of Directors.
