Pure Group secures new investment partners

Torys acted as counsel to Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board with a team that included Jared Fontaine, Scott Bell and Crystal Chung.

On December 18, 2017, the Pure Group announced a new investment partnership with FountainVest Partners ("FountainVest") and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan ("Ontario Teachers'") to fuel its growth in Asia.

Pure Group, headquartered in Hong Kong, is Asia's leading premium lifestyle brand that includes Pure Yoga, MyPureYoga.com, Pure Fitness, Pure Apparel and nood food.

Ontario Teachers' is Canada's largest single-profession pension plan, with C$180.5 billion in net assets at June 30, 2017.

FountainVest Partners is one of the largest private equity funds dedicated to China related investment, with US$4.7 billion of capital under management and offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.
