Markham Stouffville Hospital
Torys acted as counsel to TD Bank, Laurentian Bank of Canada, Canso Investment Counsel and AIMCo (Alberta Investment Management Corporation) as the lenders to PCL Constructors Canada, the successful proponent for the C$200.4 million Markham Stouffville Hospital PPP project to build and finance the redevelopment of the community hospital in Markham, Ontario.

The project involved the construction of a new four-storey, 385,000 square-foot building, which included
- a new emergency department
- expanded ambulatory clinics
- new mental health, diagnostic imaging and maternal child units
On December 1, 2010, PCL Constructors Canada achieved financial close on the project.
