Hanna’s practice focuses on all areas of litigation and dispute resolution, with an emphasis on securities, construction, class action defence, and other high-stakes commercial and civil matters. She has been involved in trials and arbitrations representing banking, telecom and life sciences clients, where she was responsible for working with experts, examining witnesses and crafting arguments. Hanna has experience in both the Federal and Ontario Courts, including the Commercial List. She also maintains an active pro bono practice with a particular focus on public law.
Prior to joining Torys, Hanna was a litigation associate at a full-service law firm in Toronto. She has been active in federal politics and previously worked in Ottawa for a Member of Parliament.
During law school, Hanna was an avid mooter, and worked as an editor on the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review. She was also awarded the course prize in Administrative Law and was a research assistant for Professor Hamish Stewart, Canada’s leading evidence law scholar.
