Yolande Dufresne’s practice focuses on the areas of intellectual property and food and drug regulatory law. In addition to a law degree, Yolande has an engineering degree (systems design) from the University of Waterloo.
Yolande advises clients with regulated products in the food, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, in areas including product licensing, labelling and advertising, product recalls and corrective actions, privacy, access to information and anti-spam matters. She has in-depth knowledge in the areas of market access and reimbursement of drugs and medical devices and supply chain management of such products. She has worked with multiple leading international companies on their standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policy manuals, from subjects including pricing, patent listings, confidentiality, whistle-blowing, relationships with physicians and healthcare providers, market access and regulatory compliance. She has also been involved in drafting and negotiating agreements relating to supply and distribution, IP licensing, procurement, clinical trials, research and development, co-promotion, marketing and confidentiality.
Yolande also advises on intellectual property and related transactions, including the acquisition, enforcement and exploitation of patents, trademarks, copyrights and industrial designs. Yolande has significant expertise in advising on risk management of intellectual property and regulatory matters. She has experience drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications, as well as advising on the validity, patentability and infringement of intellectual property rights. Yolande also has expertise in drafting and listing Form IVs on Canada’s Patent Register (Canada’s version of the US Orange Book).
