Opening up of membership to Payments Canada: implications, opportunities and challenges

Payments Canada, along with leaders from across the payments industry, has been actively calling for amendments to the Canadian Payments Act to expand the types of organizations that are eligible for Payments Canada membership in order to foster greater choices and innovation. Changes to the act were included in the 2023 Fall Economic Statement.

This discussion panel will examine what opening up membership at Payments Canada represents for Canadians, the payments industry, and for entities that are considering becoming a member of Payments Canada.
