Speakers

Blockchain technology presents many new ways to conduct business in Canada, streamlining processes and creating efficiencies while minimizing risk and intermediaries. However, with many organisations and industries on the cusp of its implementation, questions around its use cases remain.

Join us for our series detailing the blockchain revolution, and the regulatory and industry trends shaping its future in Canada.

How to navigate crypto securities law

As the crypto industry goes into flux, Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) are paying heightened attention to the asset market and taking a firm stance on registration requirements and enforcement actions.

In this session, we will be joined by Terence Lui, Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Newton Crypto, and Fred Pye, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Director of 3iQ Corp, to discuss the characterization of tokens from a securities law perspective and the evolving crypto trading platform framework in Canada so that you can better understand the securities regulations that may apply to you.

This session will be presented in English.
