Michael practices tax law with a focus on tax planning, tax litigation and dispute resolution. He has experience with a variety of domestic and international income tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, reorganizations, and public debt and equity offerings.
Michael also assists clients in tax litigation before trial courts, as well as dispute resolution with the Canada Revenue Agency and provincial tax authorities. In his litigation and disputes practice, Michael has been involved with a wide range of tax issues including transfer pricing and GAAR.
Before joining Torys, Michael completed a clerkship at the Tax Court of Canada. He is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
