Brett’s practice focuses on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on capital markets transactions and mergers and acquisitions. Brett has represented both issuers and investment banks in a variety of public offerings and private placements of debt and equity, including initial public offerings for both domestic and cross-border clients. He has also advised public and private companies on acquisitions, divestitures, related party transactions and reorganizations.
Brett regularly provides guidance to public company clients, including cross-listed issuers, on ongoing corporate governance, stock exchange and securities law matters.
During law school, Brett volunteered with the Community and Legal Aid Services Programme (CLASP) and was a mentor in the Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) mentoring program. Brett has also volunteered with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA).
