Regina Bypass
The project won the 2020 Gold Medal Award for Innovation and Excellence in Infrastructure from the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP).
The project, which is part of Trans-Canada Highway 1, consists of a freeflow highway through the Regina region. Features include
- a 58 km four-lane highway (including 40 km of new twinned highway)
- 11 new interchanges
- new flyovers and service roads
This is Saskatchewan’s first transportation project undertaken as a public-private partnership.
On August 4, 2015, SGTP Highway Bypass Limited Partnership (known as Regina Bypass Partners), a consortium consisting of Connor Clark & Lunn GVest, Gracorp Capital, Parsons Enterprises and VINCI Concessions, achieved financial close on the project with the Minister of Highways and Infrastructure on behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan. The project represents a total investment of C$1.88 billion.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by fall 2019 with some segments opening in advance of full bypass completion.
