Waratah Coal sells its common shares to Mineralogy Canada Acquisition Corp.

On March 30, 2009, Mineralogy Canada Acquisition Corp. (MCAC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mineralogy Pty Ltd. (Mineralogy), completed the compulsory acquisition of the remaining issued and outstanding common shares of Waratah Coal Inc. (Waratah), a TSX Venture Exchange listed company.
Previously, Mineralogy and MCAC had purchased a 17.5% position in Waratah on the open market and a further 75.3% of the Waratah shares by way of a supported takeover bid that expired on January 5, 2009. Overall, the transaction resulted in Waratah shareholders receiving approximately $100 million in cash for all of the issued and outstanding shares of the company.
