Overview
Madeleine’s practice focuses on corporate law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters. Madeleine also provides ongoing advice to public companies on their disclosure and securities law obligations.
As a member of our family enterprises group, Madeleine works closely with family offices and high-net-worth clients on their business, financial and personal matters.

Professional Involvement
Prior to joining Torys, Madeleine worked as a consultant at Hugessen Consulting Inc., where she advised public company boards on executive compensation and corporate governance matters.
During law school, Madeleine served as a Dean’s Fellow to Professor John McCamus in the subject of contract law and was an active member of the Osgoode Society for Corporate Governance. She also volunteered as a caseworker at the Osgoode Investor Protection Clinic, where she provided pro-bono legal advice to clients who believe they suffered an investment loss as a result of wrongdoing.
