Torys named top-ranked firm in Refinitiv league table

Refinitiv has ranked Torys number 1 for Canada All Debt deals by deal number for 2022 in its global capital markets league table.

We claimed the top spot after being credited on 23 debt deals in 2022, totaling more than $8 billion in deal value.

Some notable debt deals the firm worked on in 2022 that contributed to this ranking are below.

• Athabasca Indigenous Midstream LP in its C$865.25 million private placement of 6.069% bonds
• TD Bank, as tax counsel, in its US$1.75 billion public offering of 8.125% limited recourse capital notes, Series 3 (non-viability contingent capital (NVCC)) and related issuance of US$1.75 billion non-cumulative preferred shares, Series 30 (NVCC) as limited recourse trust assets
• Ontario Power Generation in its C$300 million public offering of 4.922% unsecured medium term notes, Series 10—its inaugural nuclear green bond offering

Earlier this month, Torys was also named the top Canadian M&A advisor by deal value for 2022 by Refinitiv for having being credited on 63 deals with Canadian involvement, totaling more than $39 billion in overall deal value.
