We are delighted to announce that partner and co-head of the Infrastructure and Energy practice Krista Hill has received the Women’s Executive Network’s (WXN) 2022 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award.
The awards recognize women who are trailblazers in their field and are committed to paving the way for the next generation. According to WXN, “Top 100 winners are women who personify what it means to be powerful through the way they empower and champion others, influence change and stand up for all of us”.
Since joining Torys in 1993, Krista’s fearless leadership and boundless vision has made a lasting impact in the industries she practices in and for the firm. Notably at a junior stage in her career, Krista, together with others at the firm, had the foresight to form Torys’ Infrastructure and Energy practice. Since then, she has quickly become one of the foremost practitioners and a trusted advisor in this area with recognition in the legal community from Chambers Canada and Chambers Global—she is one of only two lawyers in Canada ranked as Band 1 in the Energy: power (transactional) category, The Legal 500, Best Lawyers in Canada, IFLR1000, and more.
Krista’s influence and focus on promoting a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace is irrefutable. She has maintained her personal mandate to break down barriers to progression that women in the corporate world face to pave the way for others who identify as LGBTQ2S+ since day one of her career. Krista was instrumental in the Women in Law@Torys initiative—a network of support to women that promotes their recruitment, retention and advancement and prepares them for partnership, was a founding member of Torys’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and formed Torys’ LGBTQ2S+ Affinity Group.
Congratulations to Krista on a well-deserved win!
