Jeremy Opolsky named recipient of the 2026 OBA Civil Litigation Emerging Leader Award

We are pleased to share that partner Jeremy Opolsky has been named the 2026 recipient of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) Civil Litigation Emerging Leader Award for his outstanding achievements and contributions to the bar.

Jeremy has established himself as one of Canada’s leading civil litigators, appearing before courts across the country at every level. With his practice spanning corporate and commercial disputes, Jeremy advises on some of the firm’s most complex litigation matters, representing clients in arbitration, at trial and on appeal. He has built a reputation for handling some of the most consequential cases, many of which have contributed to the development of new law.

Beyond his practice, Jeremy is committed to advancing the legal profession through mentorship, education and pro bono service. He is a dedicated mentor who actively supports the development of junior lawyers, creating opportunities for them to gain meaningful experience. An adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa, Jeremy teaches an annual seminar on the Supreme Court of Canada and has lectured at law schools across the country. His commitment to service is equally notable, dedicating significant time to pro bono initiatives that support access to justice, including work with self-represented litigants and programs designed to expand access to legal assistance.

His accomplishments have earned widespread recognition across the legal profession. Recently, Benchmark Litigation named him Ontario Litigator of the Year, and his work was recognized at the 2025 Canadian Law Awards in the Commercial Litigation Team of the Year category. He is also consistently ranked by leading legal directories, including Chambers, Lexpert, Best Lawyers and Benchmark Litigation, reflecting the high regard in which he is held by clients, peers and the broader legal community.
