Suffield Solar Facility
Torys acted as counsel to ATB Financial as the lender to Suffield Solar LP, a subsidiary of BluEarth Renewables Inc., in the project financing for the 23 MW Suffield Solar Facility in southeastern Alberta.
Spread over an area of about 202 acres, the project is among the largest solar photovoltaic (PV) facilities in the province of Alberta. Achieving commercial operation December 2020, the facility is supported by both a corporate power purchase agreement with Direct Energy Marketing and merchant, uncontracted revenue.
Further information on the project can be found on BluEarth Renewables’ website.
The Torys team was led by Kevin Fougere and included Tyrel Henderson and Michelle Holmes (financing), Andrew Bedford and Collin Intrater (real estate).
