The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company completes C$500 million offering of subordinated debt

On February 17, 2012, The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company completed its C$500 million offering of principal amount 4.165% fixed/floating subordinated debentures due June 1, 2022, which are guaranteed on a subordinated basis by Manulife Financial Corporation. The debentures were offered through a syndicate of dealers co-led by RBC Capital Markets and BMO Capital Markets, and included CIBC World Markets Inc., Scotia Capital Inc., TD Securities Inc., Merrill Lynch Canada Inc., National Bank Financial Inc., HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc., Desjardins Securities Inc., Laurentian Bank Securities Inc., Canaccord Genuity Corp. and Manulife Securities Incorporated.
