On June 9, 2011, Greengate Power Corporation (Greengate), through its wholly-owned subsidiaries Blackspring Ridge IA Wind Project LP and Blackspring Ridge IB Wind Project LP, entered into turbine supply and long-term service and maintenance agreements with Vestas-Canadian Wind Technology, Inc. (Vestas) for its 300 MW Blackspring Ridge I Wind project (Blackspring Ridge I). Greengate is expecting to begin construction on Blackspring Ridge I in 2012, with a target commercial operation date of 2013. Upon completion, Blackspring Ridge I is expected to be Canada's largest operating wind energy project.
Under the terms of the turbine supply agreements, Vestas will supply 166 of its V90-1.8 MW wind turbines for Blackspring Ridge I. Pursuant to the terms of the long-term service and maintenance agreements, Vestas will provide 10 years of service and maintenance for Blackspring Ridge I at a predetermined cost. The scope of these agreements covers all scheduled and unscheduled service and maintenance relating to the Vestas wind turbines at Blackspring Ridge I.
