He advises national and international clients, including technology companies and other data-centric clients on matters relating to data use and ownership, complex business transactions involving data-based assets, outsourcing, and artificial intelligence.
He routinely advises clients on privacy and data protection issues, including cross-border transfers, global privacy compliance considerations, workplace privacy issues, developing data inventories, anti-spam, data ethics and data governance. He advises clients on data subject rights requests, including access to, and correction of, personal information. He regularly counsels clients on the implications of international privacy and data protection laws. He works with clients to undertake enterprise-wide privacy audits and privacy check-ups. As a breach counsel, he regularly liaises with IT and forensic professionals in managing breach investigations and implementing remediation plans. Ronak’s background in intellectual property, commercial contracting and litigation allows him to assess relevant industry standards for data protection, business objectives and legal risks when assisting clients in designing cyber security strategies and resolving information security incidents. He regularly assists clients in developing effective privacy training and awareness, including breach preparedness. Additionally, he advises and represent clients in responding to investigations and complaints raised before privacy regulatory authorities.
