Michael practises corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. He also advises companies on continuous disclosure, stock exchange matters and shareholder arrangements. Mike is the co-head of Torys' Mining and Metals Practice. Mike has particular expertise in the areas of public and private equity, streaming and royalty finance and M&A in the mining sector. He recently led the team that assisted in the sale of the largest thermal coal producer in Canada. Mike also regularly advises offshore clients investing in Canadian resource companies.

Michael is a Section Executive for the Ontario Bar Association’s Natural Resources and Energy Law Section. He is also a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and the Prospector’s and Developers Association of Canada.
