Overview

Kelly Morris specializes in insurance corporate and regulatory law, as well as privacy and data security and anti-spam related matters. She advises domestic and foreign insurers, reinsurers, banks, brokers, agents, adjusters, third party administrators and other insurance intermediaries. Kelly is also experienced in insurance compliance and market conduct matters, and anti-money laundering issues.

Kelly's work includes:

  • Advising with respect to the incorporation, organization, licensing and governance of insurers, brokers and agents
  • Advising foreign insurers entering Canada with respect to regulatory and licensing requirements
  • Preparing insurance policies and fulfilment documents
  • Advising with respect to distribution and outsourcing issues
  • Reviewing insurance marketing and promotional material
  • Advising with respect to acquisitions of insurance companies, transfers of books of business and withdrawal and winding up of insurers
  • Advising with respect to near-insurance products, including warranties
  • Advising on compliance with federal and provincial privacy laws, including privacy breach responses
  • Advising on Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
  • Advising on anti-money laundering issues
