Jessie’s practice encompasses all areas of restructuring and bankruptcy, acting for a wide range of parties, including insolvent corporations, creditors, court-appointed receivers, monitors and trustees in bankruptcy, in large and complex insolvencies and restructurings.
Jessie also practices corporate and commercial law, with an emphasis on power, oil and gas and infrastructure transactions. She has experience assisting clients on a broad range of commercial projects and transactions, including general corporate and commercial matters, project development, internal reorganizations, asset acquisitions and dispositions and mergers and acquisitions. Jessie’s related experience includes drafting and analyzing corporate, transactional and project agreements, as well as conducting corporate due diligence.

Prior to joining Torys, Jessie worked for a diversified, Canada-based, international group of companies, providing corporate governance advice and corporate secretarial assistance to the subsidiaries of three TSX-listed issuers.
Jessie is a member of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation, Canadian Bar Association, Calgary Bar Association and Association of Women Lawyers.
Staying active in the community is very important to Jessie. She currently serves on the board of directors of the Canadian Club of Calgary and is a Member-at-Large of the Insolvency Subsection Executive of the Canadian Bar Association. Jessie volunteered at the YMCA and food bank, as well as other non-profit and charitable organizations helping vulnerable Canadians.
