During law school, Rufaida served as Senior Editor and Director of Recruitment for the Osgoode Hall Law Journal. She was also the President of the Osgoode Privacy Law Society. Rufaida graduated in the top 9% of her class.

Rufaida has also acted as a mentor with the Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) program, a high school program that uses legal education as a tool to assist students in succeeding in school and becoming engaged and active citizens.
