James' practice focuses on civil litigation in a variety of areas, including corporate/commercial disputes, competition litigation, intellectual property, class actions and public law. James has appeared as counsel in the Supreme Court of Canada, in the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario, as well as before the Competition Tribunal.
In law school, James was a volunteer at Pro Bono Students Canada, and a member of the school’s Nominating Committee and Faculty Recruitment Committee. He was also a research assistant, contributing to projects ranging from constitutional and Crown liability law to a biography of a former justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.
