During law school, Julia worked for a major Canadian insurance company to provide legal research, conduct due diligence, and assist in implementing a large-scale legal technology initiative across Canada and the United States. She was also active in student government at the law school and was elected at-large each year to represent her peers. Julia sat on many committees in this capacity, including Faculty Council, the Admissions Committee, the Academic Planning Committee, the Dean’s Mental Health Committee, the Dean’s DEI Committee, and the Dean’s Truth and Reconciliation Committee.

Julia also previously volunteered with Pro Bono Ontario and was a member of the Police Oversight Working Group at the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights.
