Chantalle is an intellectual property lawyer whose practice is geared toward patent law and regulatory law related to life science innovations and products. She delivers strategic IP counsel and end-to-end support in patent drafting and prosecution, and advises on regulatory compliance under the Patented Medicines Regulations and the Food and Drugs Act. Her work spans a range of technologies, including diagnostics, therapeutics, medical devices, and genetic engineering-based innovations for clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and agrotechnology sectors.
Chantalle also has experience conducting prior art searches and providing patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments. She also provides guidance on trade secrets and reviews and prepares assorted IP agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, material transfer agreements, and IP assignments.
Chantalle is fluent in French.
Before joining Torys, Chantalle was an associate at a leading national firm for intellectual property.
Chantalle serves as a member of the Conference Committee and the Continuing Professional Development Committee for the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC). Chantalle has previously served on the executive of the Canadian Bar Association’s (CBA) National Health Law Section and its professional development subcommittee, as well as volunteered with numerous STEM outreach and STEM public policy organizations.
