Ricco has a significant practice in domestic and global M&A, specializing in public and private M&A, joint ventures and partnerships. He has extensive experience acting in the financial services and technology sectors for banks, private equity/pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, and other market participants on some of their most important transactions (e.g., domestic, U.S. and international credit loyalty programs, asset management, insurance, bank and bancassurance transactions). Additionally, Ricco regularly acts for clients in a wide array of other industries, including industrials, diversified, food and beverage and mining. He has also advised clients on proxy and board governance matters.
Ricco is called to the bar in New York and Ontario and routinely acts for clients in material cross-border and international deals involving New York, or other U.S. or international laws. He has been recognized in Chambers Canada for his expertise in corporate and commercial law and in IFLR1000 as a Notable Practitioner in corporate and M&A. Ricco is conversant in Punjabi and Hindi.

Prior to joining Torys, Ricco practiced corporate law at a large U.S.-based international law firm in their New York office. He has also completed a secondment at the Ontario Securities Commission in the Investment Funds branch. Additionally, Ricco has completed a Business Leadership program at the Rotman Business School of U of T.
He was awarded the Circle of Scholars Award Scholarship from Schulich School of Business and was a Silver Medalist in the Hick’s Cup National Moot Competition at Queen's University.
Community
Ricco serves on the Board of Directors of the William Osler Health System and he has been a volunteer for the Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) program, a program providing mentorship to high school students in Toronto. He is also active in other charity and diversity initiatives, including with the Heart & Stroke Foundation and ERG Roundtables on diversity.
