Food and Drug Regulatory LawOver the past few years, the scope of pharmacy practice has been expanded in several provinces, so that pharmacists have been given the authority to inject medications and in limited circumstances, the authority to prescribe.

This means that pharmacists in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador can administer the seasonal flu shot in pharmacies offering convenience to patients, and potential marketing opportunities for pharmacies.
