Stephanie Kalinowski will speak at Osgoode's “Making Sense of Pensions in Family Law in 2024” course on February 15.
This course will explore some of the complex and technical issues that arise in family law. It will guide attendees through the delicate landscape of the division of pension and retirement assets that arise upon spousal separation.
Stephanie will speak at 1:00 p.m. on the “Untangling Survivor Pensions and Death Benefit Beneficiaries” panel where she will speak about how to distinguish spousal survivor benefits from death benefits, unpack the eligibility test for spousal survivor pension, and discuss navigating issues with spousal waivers.
