Women are in the spotlight as the workplace in Canada continues to experience change and disruption.

We hope you will join us for our International Women’s Day event, featuring Sandrine Devillard, Senior Partner from McKinsey and co-author of McKinsey’s latest study on the current state—and future—of Canadian women in the workplace.

Sandrine will explore some of the key highlights of McKinsey’s new study, which is based on a body of research covering the case for gender diversity globally that McKinsey has been building for almost two decades, with a more recent focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I).

This year’s study is informed by data from 51 Canada-based companies which collectively employ over 1 million employees across 10 industries. The study focuses on issues related to the impact of COVID-19 and the intersectionality of gender, race and ethnicity, including:

  • Succession and pipeline planning: the state of representation of women across all lines of business in organizations
  • Burnout and other challenges: Canadian women are taking on more work, both in their jobs and at home
  • The impact of COVID-19: The progress of diversity, equity and inclusion and what pathways organizations can follow in order to effect real change
  • What the future holds, how to create inclusion-centred work environments—and the importance of the roles of all stakeholders in an organization (women and men) in advancing women in the workplace

Following the presentation, Torys partners will join Sandrine for an engaging conversation and Q&A. We invite you to submit your questions to contribute to the discussion on Canadian women in the workplace.
