Navigating human rights issues in designing and administering pension plans

In Fraser v. Canada (Attorney General), the SCC ruled in favor of retired Mounties who claimed the RCMP’s pension plan discriminated against them on the basis of sex and parental status. Similar claims may be on the rise. This third and final session in the series discusses how plan sponsors and administrators can guard against these types of claims through an analysis of Fraser, as well as other human rights cases involving pension and benefit plans and what plan sponsors and administrators need to consider moving forward.
