Grand Renewable Solar Project
Torys acted as counsel to Connor, Clark & Lunn Infrastructure in its acquisition of the 100 MW Grand Renewable Solar Project in Haldimand County, Ontario from Samsung Renewable Energy Inc. and in the project's subsequent C$435 million debt financing.
The largest of its kind in Canada and one of the largest in North America at the time of its development, the project consists of approximately 425,000 photovoltaic (PV) solar panels installed on fixed ground-mounted racking structures organized into 100-1 MW solar modules.
Construction on the project began in 2013 and achieved commercial operations in Mar, 2015.
The project is owned by Samsung Renewable Energy, Inc., Connor Clark & Lunn Infrastructure and Six Nations of the Grand River.
