Stanton Territorial Hospital Renewal
Torys acted as counsel to the Government of the Northwest Territories as the public authority for the C$350 million Stanton Territorial Hospital Renewal PPP project to design, build, finance and maintain a new hospital facility in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
The new state-of-the-art facility will replace the existing hospital and will include a floor area of over 280,000 square-feet, offering in and outpatient services including emergency, medical imaging, dialysis, obstetrics, pediatric, cardio and mental health departments as well as day procedure and surgery suites.
On September 24, 2015, the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) announced that it signed an agreement with the Boreal Health Partnership (Boreal Health)—a consortium comprised of Carillion Canada, Hochtief PPP Solutions North America and Bird Capital as the developers; Bird Construction, Clark Builders and Kasian Architects as the design builders; and Carillion Canada as the service provider—in connection with the project.
