ADT to acquire Protectron

On July 8, 2014, The ADT Corporation (ADT) reported that it closed the previously announced acquisition of Reliance Protectron, Inc. (Protectron), from Reliance Comfort Limited Partnership, a portfolio company of investment funds managed by Alinda Capital Partners. ADT acquired Protectron for total cash consideration of C$555 million (US$500 million).

The transaction is expected to close this summer, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

Protectron is one of Canada's largest security monitoring and installation companies.

ADT is a leading provider of electronic security, interactive home and business automation and monitoring services for residences and small businesses in North America.
