Indianapolis Consolidated Justice Facility
Torys acted as counsel to Indy Justice Partners (AECOM Capital/Fengate Capital) as a shortlisted proponent for the Indianapolis Consolidated Justice Facility PPP project to design, build, finance, operate and maintain a new consolidated courthouse and detention center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The project, which was cancelled in June 2015, proposed to relocate and consolidate county jails, criminal courts, offices for the Marion County Sheriff's Office, and other related offices and agencies from disparate locations around Indianapolis.
The campus was to include
- 3,000 bed detention facility
- 960 bed minimum security/ transitional community corrections facility
- 32 courtroom courthouse
- a law office building
- a juvenile court and 100 bed juvenile detention center
- a Sheriff's office
- a Surface and structured parking facilities
- a Central facilities for maintenance, warehouse, central plant and underground connecting tunnel system
Torys acted as counsel with a team that included Tara Mackay, Jon Wiener, Blair McKechnie and Graeme Murray.
