Brookfield Asset Management completes C$578 million common shares offering

On February 15, 2011, Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (TSX: BAM.A) (NYSE:BAM) (EURONEXT:BAMA) completed an offering of 17,595,000 Class A Common Shares at a price of $32.85 per share, for aggregate gross proceeds of approximately C$578 million. The Class A Common Shares were offered by way of a short form prospectus filed in all of the provinces of Canada and on a private placement basis in the United States pursuant to an exemption from the registration requirements of the United States Securities Act of 1933, as amended.
The offering was underwritten by a syndicate of underwriters led by RBC Dominion Securities Inc., CIBC World Markets Inc., Scotia Capital Inc. and TD Securities Inc. and included Barclays Capital Canada Inc., BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., Citigroup Global Markets Canada Inc., Credit Suisse Securities (Canada), Inc., Deutsche Bank Securities Limited, HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc., J.P. Morgan Securities Canada Inc. and National Bank Financial Inc.
