
Shalom litigates complex commercial disputes in arbitrations and courts across Canada. His cases have gone before the Federal Court, all levels of court in Ontario, and the courts of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Yukon.
Shalom maintains a broad business law practice, involving contract claims, corporate liability, and complex trust and estate matters. The core of Shalom’s practice focuses on commercial disputes in the infrastructure, data security, and insurance industries.
Shalom has a busy construction and infrastructure practice, where he acts on large post-construction disputes resolving complex engineering and design issues, cost overruns, construction delays, and environmental contamination. Shalom is experienced in applications for emergency relief, including injunctions, adjudications, construction liens, and judicial reviews.
Shalom regularly defends many of Canada’s leading businesses in high profile insurance and data security cases, including class actions.
He also works closely with the firm’s Family Enterprises Practice to manage disputes arising out of family office, high net worth families, and/or trust and estate issues.

Shalom sits on the board of the Loran Scholars Foundation, is a former executive member of the Ontario Bar Association’s privacy law section, and is one of the co-captains of the Torys Running Club.
