Torys leading mock joint venture exercise with the Schulich School of Business students

Real Estate partner Charlene Schafer will spearhead an initiative with the Schulich School of Business Brookfield Centre in Real Estate and Infrastructure on March 31. The exercise will see some of the school’s students work alongside Torys’ real estate lawyers in a virtual setting to participate in a mock joint venture in commercial real estate.

The program affords Masters of Real Estate and Infrastructure students the opportunity to engage with practicing lawyers in a simulated joint venture in commercial real estate. Students get the chance to understand how negotiations play out across the (virtual) boardroom table and helps them navigate and learn about the complex negotiations that could take place in a real-life joint venture.
