Regina Bypass and Corner Brook Acute Care Hospital recognized by CCPPP for innovation and excellence
Torys is delighted to announce that two projects our Infrastructure practice advised on have been honoured at the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnership’s 2020 National Awards—which celebrate innovation and excellence in public-private partnerships.
Established in 1998, the CCPPP National Awards celebrate governments and/or public institutions and their private sector partners who have shown excellence and innovation—in the areas of project financing, service delivery, infrastructure investment and/or generation of economic benefit—in public-private partnerships.
Torys advised on two out of the five projects honoured at this year’s awards.
Infrastructure Gold Award
Torys acted as counsel to Regina Bypass Partners (Connor Clark & Lunn GVest/Gracorp Capital/Parsons Enterprises/VINCI Concessions) as the successful proponent for the C$1.88 billion Regina Bypass PPP project to design, build, finance, operate and maintain a new highway around Regina, Saskatchewan. This is the province’s first transportation project undertaken as a public-private partnership.
Project Development Silver Award
Corner Brook Acute Care Hospital
Torys acted for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Western Regional Health Authority as the public authorities for the C$750 million Corner Brook Acute Care Hospital PPP project to design, build, finance and maintain a new acute care hospital in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. This new seven-story, 600,000 square-foot hospital will connect to the newly constructed 145-bed Corner Brook Long-term Care Facility on the same site.
This project was also named North America Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year 2019 by IJGlobal.
