While investment in the cannabis sector is rapidly maturing in Canada after last year’s legalization, south of the border, things look a little different. Torys partner Cheryl Reicin and senior counsel Peter Aziz have spoken with the IFLR about cannabis in the United States and what the prevailing sentiment and approach of financial institutions there is.

The pair discussed the how banks in the U.S. remain “incredibly wary” of the sector despite the progress that continues to legitimize cannabis at a federal level.
