Neil is a Calgary-based tax lawyer. His practice focuses on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and energy projects. He also advises on tax issues arising from cross-border employee mobility. Neil works with clients in the renewable energy, resources, technology and software, and financial services sectors.

Before practising law, Neil worked as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) and co-founded a consulting firm. This experience gives him a practical understanding of the commercial and technical considerations that shape clients' projects, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He also draws on his experience working with government bodies when advising clients in their dealings with tax authorities.
