We also have experience advising government officials and assisting in the drafting of legislation, and many of our lawyers have been directly involved in government organizations and processes, and assist clients who require a liaison with various government ministries. Notably, one of our partners was the chair of the Ontario Securities Commission Advisory Committee, the group of lawyers appointed by the Government of Ontario to assist in developing and drafting amendments to Canadian securities legislation and policy. Other members of the practice participate on various committees of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada.
