Brookfield issues C$350 million of medium term notes
On September 18, 2015, Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (Brookfield) completed its offering of C$350 million aggregate principal amount of a reopening of its 4.82% medium term notes due 2026.
The terms of the additional notes, other than the issue date and the price to the public, were identical to the terms of the C$500 million principal amount of 4.82% medium term notes due 2026, which were issued by Brookfield on January 28, 2014. Offered through a syndicate of agents led by CIBC World Markets Inc. and RBC Dominion Securities Inc., the additional notes were issued at a price of C$105.89 plus accrued interest, with an effective yield of 4.103% if held to maturity. An aggregate of approximately C$850 million of 4.82% medium term notes due 2026 are now outstanding after giving effect to this offering.
The company intends to use the net proceeds of the offering for general corporate purposes.
