Northleaf Capital Partners becomes independent private equity firm
Torys acted as counsel to TD Bank, working with Sandra Mundy, Vice President, Legal. The Torys team included Peter Ballantyne, Michael Akkawi, Bernard Kwasniewski, Sunny Sodhi, Josh Lavine and Beverley Liske (corporate/securities).
On November 1, 2009, Northleaf Capital Partners completed its transition to an independent global private equity investment firm. Northleaf's predecessor, TD Capital Private Equity Investors, was the private equity fund of funds and co-investment arm of TD Bank Financial Group, one of North America's leading financial institutions.
Northleaf Capital Partners, headquartered in Toronto, is Canada's largest independent global private equity fund manager and advisor. Northleaf will continue to manage over C$2.8 billion in private equity fund commitments on behalf of institutional investors, including TD Bank.
